My Latest Book – A Wine Lover’s Guide to Virginia Wine

A Wine Lover’s Guide to Virginia Wine is a book of samples. When testing the purity of a large and dynamic body of water, it is unnecessary to test all the water it contains. It only requires collecting and analyzing water samples from critical locations to determine the answer.

Likewise, it is unnecessary to evaluate all of Virginia’s grape types, interview all its winemakers, taste all its wine, or know all of Virginia’s wine organizations to gain an understanding and appreciation of Virginia’s wine.

I have organized and analyzed a sample of data from reliable sources so that the curious wine lover can know Virginia wine in a previously impossible way.

I analyze the results of the Virginia’s Governor’s Cup, the Loudoun Wine Awards, The Monticello Cup Wine Competition, and the Shenandoah Cup Wine Competition and use the Virginia Commercial Grape Report to find out what Virginia is growing and the stars of Virginia wine.

I had a wonderful experience interviewing ten winemakers and winery owners from around Virginia, including:

Bluestone Vineyards

Chatham Vineyards on Church Creek

Early Mountain Vineyards

Fabbioli Cellars

Hillsborough Vineyards

October One Vineyard

Ramiiisol Vineyards

Veritas Vineyard & Winery

Walsh Family Wine

Williamsburg Winery.
